Ansonia girls bowling team gets its 1st victory

DARKE COUNTY – The Ansonia girls bowling team beat Temple Christian in week two of West Ohio High School Bowling Conference action.

The Ansonia girls beat Temple Christian 1,745-1,404 at Plaza Lanes in Celina.

The Mississinawa Valley girls lost 2,132-1,733 to St. Marys at Plaza Lanes. Spencer Warren led the Lady Hawks with games of 131 and 162, Tiffany Westfall had games of 127 and 140, Victoria Bentley had games of 101 and 150, Elizabeth Mangas had games of 126 and 114, Kayla Harris had a game of 86, and Payton Reichard had a game of 77.

The Versailles girls lost 2,129-2,101 to Celina at Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater. Hannah Niekamp led the Lady Tigers with games of 146 and 157, Makenzie Berning had games of 132 and 171, Olivia Bruening had games of 135 and 167, Natalie Parin had games of 138 and 133, and Morgan Barlage had a 105.

The Ansonia girls are now 1-1 on the season while the Mississinawa Valley girls and Versailles girls are both 0-2.

The Ansonia boys lost 2,609-1,779 to Lima Shawnee at Plaza Lanes.

The Mississinawa Valley boys lost 2,705-2,090 to Van Wert at Plaza Lanes. Joe Teeter led the Blackhawks with games of 234 and 154, Alex Lognfellow had games of 164 and 129, Brandon White had games of 139 and 135, Dilyn Rammal had a game of 110, Lucas Newbauer had a game of 108, Dominic Rammel had a game of 107, and Andrew Reichard had a game of 102.

The Versailles boys lost 2,847-2,386 to Wapakoneta at Pla-Mor Lanes. Brody Hyre led the Tigers with games of 199 and 147, Alex Groff had games of 191 and 153, Jacob Wenig had games of 154 and 171, Kyle Cotner had a game of 179, and Luke Shellhass had a game of 146.

The Versailles boys are now 1-1 on the season while the Ansonia boys and the Mississinawa Valley boys are both 0-2.

On Saturday all of Darke County’s WOHSBC teams will compete at Woodcrest Lanes in Union City. The girls will bowl at 9:45 a.m. with Ansonia facing Russia, Mississinawa Valley facing Fort Loramie and Versailles facing Minster. The boys will bowl at 1 p.m. with Ansonia facing St. Henry, Mississinawa Valley facing New Bremen and Versailles facing New Bremen.
