TROY – The Greenville Lady Wave varsity golf team defeated Troy 202-238 in MVL play on the Lady Trojans home course.
“We only had four players today but came out with the win,” said Greenville coach Tracy Haines. “We struggled a little bit with putting, chipping and sand, but overall played well.”
The four top scores for Greenville had Kenna Jenkinson shooting a 38; Leah Fry carding a 51; Trinity Reis a 52and Lexi Slade finishing with a 61on the day.
Finishing with the top scores for Troy was Libby Harnish with a 47; Ella Fecher shot a 61; Astha Patel a 63 and Gwen Matz shotting a 67.
“Per the Troy coach the pins were in places that they have not been in the past,” Coach Haines noted. “That made the putting very difficult.”
With the win, the Lady Wave improve to 5-1 on the 2020 season.
