Versailles girls basketball team gets its 1st MAC win

VERSAILLES – The Versailles girls basketball team won its first Midwest Athletic Conference game of the season on Thursday, defeating Parkway 89-27.

Versailles took a 21-8 lead in the first quarter and increased it to 48-12 at halftime. The Lady Tigers pushed their lead to 73-19 in the fourth quarter en route to the 89-27 victory.

All 12 Versailles players scored in Thursday’s game, led by Kami McEldowney’s 20 points. Also for the Tigers, Lauren Monnin scored 12 points, Danielle Winner scored nine, Kristin Langston scored seven, Camille Watren scored seven, Ellen Peters scored six, Clair Schmitmeyer scored six, Logan Shimp scored six, Emily Langenkamp scored five, Kami Ording scored five, Emily Marshal scored four, and Brynna Blakeley scored two.

Versailles improved to 7-4 overall and 1-3 in the MAC with the win. Parkway fell to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the MAC.
