GREENVILLE – The Greenville Citizens Baseball League (GCBL) hosted the 11th Annual Summer Kickoff Bash baseball tournament at Sater Heights Ball Park.
“Great weekend, beautiful weather and good attendence,” said GCBL Commissioner, Ron Kerg. “We have good teams out here – a good group of people.”
GCBL is a community organization promoting youth baseball opportunities for players ranging from age three through Junior High.
“We have lot’s of help,” Kerg stated. “A lot of volunteers out here doing a great job and keeping the tournament rolling. With everyones help and support it has been a great weekend of baseball.”
The Greenville program is know for its excellent concession stand providing quality drinks and food. The success of GCBL is due to the support of the many volunteers who dedicate countless hours to the development and organization of the programs, maintenance and upkeep of the Sater Park facility as well as coaching, running the concession stands and providing support to the teams, players and families.
“The concession stand runs our rec-ball program,” said Kerg. “If we don’t have a concession stand a lot of things might get missed so it’s nice to have that source of income. We are very blessed to have so many volunteers helping with the concession stand as well as all areas it takes to put on a tournament like this.”
The 2021 season opening tournament include 8U, 9U, 10U, 12U, 13U and 14U baseball teams.
