Traffic blitz yields 4 drug arrests

UNION CITY, Ind. – The Union City Indiana Police Department four men on Friday after they conducted a traffic blitz between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

All arrests were for drug-related charges. These charges ranged from possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, to possession of a controlled substance and possession of Heroin.

Those arrested were Trevor Matchett, age 19 of Union City, Indiana; Todd Pearson, age 47 of Union City, Indiana; Joseph Deal, age 18 of Rossburg, Ohio and Joe Beamer, age 61, also of Rossburg, Ohio.

“The Union City Police Department organizes saturation patrols throughout the year. Saturation patrol, or a Blitz is usually very successful and is just one method used to take drugs off the streets of Union City,” said Captain Bradbury. “We utilize as many officers as we can and target crime and drugs with increased patrol and presence.”

Several officers from the Union City Indiana Police Department conducted the blitz.
