Evans Sides jailed in Richmond twice in 3 days

RICHMOND, Ind. — Evans Sides, 22, of Greenville was arrested Saturday after a mid-morning pursuit from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Richmond Police.

He was charged with Auto Theft (a Level 6 felony), Resisting Law Enforcement (a Level 6 felony), Criminal Recklessness (a Class A misdemeanor) and Reckless Driving (a Class B misdemeanor).

The pursuit by law enforcement ended when he crashed a stolen truck while trying to get on Interstate 70. He had stolen a 1999 gray GMC truck from the Old Richmond Inn.

He was treated for minor injuries at the scene by Richmond Fire Department EMS workers before being taken to Reid Health.

Sides had been previously arrested Thursday morning on the syringe charge and was released that morning from the jail. He also was cited for not having a valid driver’s license.
