Landis pleads guilty to Domestic Violence

GREENVILLE — A Greenville man avoided a jury trial by pleading guilty to a lesser charge in Darke County Common Pleas Court Thursday.

Jason Landis, 36, had been arrested in August and charged with a third-degree felony of domestic violence.

As part of the plea agreement between the defendant, represented by attorney Kristina M. Coen, and Darke County Prosecutors, Landis agreed to plead guilty to a first-degree misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

Common Pleas Court Judge Jonathan P. Hein sentenced Landis to time served — 80 days — in this instance, time already spent in custody at the Darke County Jail. He was also ordered to pay court costs.

The defendant, however, remains incarcerated at the jail on an unrelated case.
