GREENVILLE — Darke County Common Pleas Court conducted multiple intervention in lieu of conviction or ILC hearings on Thursday.
James C. Randolph, 42, of Greenville, went before Judge Jonathan P. Hein for possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony. He faces penalties of up to 12 months in prison, a $2500 fine, and potential post-prison supervision of up to three years.
Defense Attorney David Rohrer filed a request for ILC on behalf of his client the latter who cited it as an opportunity for a second chance upon questioning by Judge Hein.
The motion was granted for intervention up to 60 months, courts costs, 100 hours community service, and 77 days jail credit.
Anthony P. Bergman, of Dayton Beach, Fla., also went before Judge Hein for an ILC hearing on a charge of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony. He faces a maximum 18 months incarceration and a $5,000 fine. However, the defendant requested a jury trial which is slated for Oct. 15 and 16.
Andrea M. Gabbard, 30, of Greenville, for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, also requested a jury trial which is scheduled for Oct. 8 and 9.
Stephany M. Harvey, 31, of Gettysburg, was the last ILC hearing. She went before the court on three counts of illegal use of welfare benefits, all fifth-degree felonies. She was sentenced to up to 60 months treatment, courts costs, 100 hours community service, and to pay $584.29 in restitution.
Casey E. Bowman, 30, of New Weston, went before Judge Hein on a charge of grand theft auto, a fourth-degree felony, theft from a person in a protected class, a fifth-degree felony, failure to comply, a first-degree misdemeanor, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a first-degree misdemeanor.
In exchange for a guilty plea to grand theft and theft from a protected class, the latter two charges were dropped, with a sentencing date scheduled for Oct. 28.
Yvonne L. Makley, 36, of Greenville, went before the court for forgery, a fifth-degree felony. She was sentenced to community control sanctions up to 60 months, court costs, 50 hours community service, and to pay $1,350 in restitution.
