GREENVILLE — Betty E. (Teaford) Lindley, 91, of Greenville and formerly of Union City, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Betty was born on July 14, 1924, to the late Elbert and Nola (Teaford) Teaford.
Betty was a homemaker during her life. She was very involved in the American Legion Post #158 and the Union City Eagles Lodge #2709. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lindley, who passed away in 2000, and two sisters.
Betty is survived by two sons, Dan and Debra Lindley of Sheldon, Vermont, and Larry Lindley of Union City, Indiana; one daughter, Judy and Scott Jett of Santa Cruz, California; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Braund Pope Funeral Home in New Madison with Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Family and friends may visit from 12 – 1 p.m., also at the funeral home Burial will follow in the St. Johns Cemetery, Palestine, Ohio. The family request memorial contributions be given to the Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aide Fund or State of the Heart Hospice.
