







ARCANUM – The Versailles girls golf team won the championship at Arcanum’s Lady Trojan Invitational on Monday at Beechwood Golf Course.
Versailles won the seven-team invitational with a score of 390, Russia finished second with a 413, Fort Loramie was third with a 432, Arcanum was fourth with a 468, New Bremen was fifth with a 514, Covington was sixth with a 545, and Tri-Village finished seventh with a 556.
Maddie Covault led Versailles as she finished second overall out of 42 golfers with an 18-hole round of 89. Also for the Lady Tigers, Lauren Durham finished third with a 96, Lauren Heitkamp finished fifth with a 101, Jorja Pothast finished seventh with a 104, Morgan Heitkamp finished 11th with a 113, and Taylor Marten finished 33rd with a 142.
Haleigh Shaffer and Lexi Unger both shot a 114 to lead Arcanum and tie for 12th individually. Also for the Lady Trojans, Franchesca Hackworth shot a 119 to finish 15th, Brenna Loxley shot a 121to finish 16th, Chloe Price shot a 132 to finish 24th, and Abbe Hissong shot a 137 to finish 30th.
Emma Campbell led Tri-Village with a round of 131, which put her in 23rd place overall. Also for the Lady Patriots, Jenna Coffman shot a 132 and finished 24th, Shelby Frech shot a 136 and finished 28th, Becky O’Conner shot a 157 and finished 38th, and Kina Hill shot a 165 and finished 40th.
Fort Loramie’s Emily Knouff was the tournament medalist as she shot a two-over-par 74 for the 18-hole round. Knouff beat the second-place finisher, Covault, by 15 strokes.
