SIDNEY — Shelby County commissioners have put the county jail water controls project on hold.

After announcing a call for bids, the commission rejected the one bid received due to its exceeding the engineer’s estimate by the allowable 10 percent. The county engineer will review the plans and specifications and put the project out for bid again at a later date.

In other business, the commission:

• Authorized the county engineer to hold the annual Trustees Road Meeting on Sept. 16 at Fair Haven.

• Approved addenda to modify and clarify original drawings and specifications for the standpipe tank mixing and Fair Haven waste water treatment plant improvement project, received two bids and awarded the contract in the amount of $202,000 to Jutte Excavating.

• Approved final payment to Stanley Convergent Security Solutions Inc. in the amount of $34,458 for the jail security upgrade project. The total project cost was $688,380.
