ARCANUM – The Arcanum boys golf team won a pair of matches against Cross County Conference foes this week to improve to 5-0 in league play.
Arcanum beat Covington 172-193 on Monday at Beechwood Golf Course.
Arcanum’s Conner Pohl led all golfers with a nine-hole round of 39. Also for the Trojans, Justin Hoke shot a 41, Steven Vanatta shot a 44, Nate Kubik shot a 48, Hayden Westfall shot a 48, and Sam Artz shot a 52.
Levi Winn led Covington with a round of 43. Also for the Buccs, Andrew Slusher shot a 45, James Grilliot shot a 50, Braden Miller shot a 55, Ryan Gengler shot a 59, and Derek McCool shot a 71.
The Arcanum boys beat Bethel 146-155 on Tuesday at Cliffside Golf Course. It was a season-best round for the Trojans, who improved to 5-0 in the CCC.
Conner Pohl led Arcanum with a nine-hole round of 35 against Bethel. Also for the Trojans, Justin Hoke shot a 36, Sam Artz shot a 37, Steven Vanatta shot a 38, Hayden Westfall shot a 39, and Nate Kubik shot a 42.
Bethel’s Tyler Weinert led all golfers with a round of 34. Also for the Bees, Tyler Brookhart shot a 38, Nick Lightcap shot a 38, Connor Hockett shot a 45, Christian White shot a 46, and Devon Truman shot a 54.
Arcanum’s Cody Meeks and Jarrod Archer shot a pair of 44s in the junior varsity match against Bethel.
