DARKE COUNTY — The Darke County Soccer Association will conduct a Fall Skills Academy beginning Sept. 27 and running every Sunday through Oct. 25.
“This is a great opportunity for kids across the county to get free soccer training from coaches and high school players,” DCSA President Dave Ernst said.
The Fall Skills Academy is being offered free of charge to area children from 3 to 14 years of age. No registration is needed, and participants may come to one or all of the training sessions.
Kids 3 to 8 years old will hold their sessions from 5 to 6 p.m. Those 9 to 14 will have theirs from 6 to 7 p.m.
Participants are encouraged to show up at least 15 minutes early to check in. Each of the five weeks will cover a different skill and will finish up with small-sided games.
Week 1: passing and trapping
Week 2: dribbling and trapping
Week 3: passing and shooting
Week 4: dribbling and defense
Week 5: game play and mini-tournament
