





































VERSAILLES – The Versailles girls golf team and Arcanum’s Haleigh Shaffer qualified for districts with their performances at the Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional tournament on Wednesday at Stillwater Valley Golf Club.
The Versailles girls shot a 393 to win the sectional championship and qualify for districts.
Maddie Covault led Versailles with an 18-hole round of 90. Also for the Lady Tigers, Lauren Durham shot a 100, Lauren Heitkamp shot a 100, Jorja Pothast shot a 103, and Morgan Heitkamp shot a 113.
Russia with a 404, Miami East with a 407 and Fort Loramie with a 416 qualified for districts as teams along with Versailles.
Arcanum shot a 440 and finished one spot out of district-qualifying position.
Arcanum’s Shaffer did qualify for districts as an individual by shooting a 100.
Eaton’s Sarah Willis with a 79, Benjamin Logan’s Morgan Fultz with a 99 and Bellefontaine’s Emily McLaughlin with a 100 also qualified for districts as individuals.
Along with Shaffer, Arcanum’s Madi O’Daniel shot a 107, Lexi Unger shot a 112, Francesca Hackworth shot a 121, and Brenna Loxley shot a 134.
Bellefontaine finished sixth with a 441, Benjamin Logan finished seventh with a 466, Triad finished eighth with a 467, Covington finished ninth with a 491, Northwestern finished 10th with a 500, Riverside finished 11th with a 518, Tri-Village finished 12th with a 530, and Franklin Monroe finished 13th with a 571.
Jenna Coffman led Tri-Village with a round of 116. Also for the Lady Patriots, Paige Sloan shot a 127, Kina Hill shot a 134, and Becky O’Connor shot a 153.
Kalin McCabe led Franklin Monroe with a round of 119. Also for the Lady Jets, Danielle Nestor shot a 136, Grace Fee shot a 144, and Lacy Henninger shot a 172.
Fort Loramie’s Emily Knouff was the sectional tournament medalist with a round of 75.

Shaffer and the Versailles girls now will advance to the OHSAA district tournament, which will be held on Wednesday at Pipestone Golf Course in Miamisburg.
