Arcanum’s Marcy Bradshaw, Franklin Monroe girls win at Blazer Invitational


NEW PARIS – Arcanum’s Marcy Bradshaw and the Franklin Monroe girls took home championships at National Trail’s Blazer Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.

Bradshaw won the high school girls race with a time of 20:07, beating Bradford’s Karmen Knepp for the championship by 18 seconds. There were 39 girls in the race.

The Franklin Monroe girls won the team championship. They were followed by National Trail in second place, Ansonia in third place, Arcanum in fourth place and Edgewood in fifth place.

Nicole Brocious led the Franklin Monroe girls as she finished fourth in a time of 21:28. Also for the Lady Jets, Danielle McVey finished sixth in 22:21, Cayley Baker finished 15th in 23:13, Taylor Hackney finished 22nd in 25:35, and Scout Meyer finished 24th in 26:24.

Skyler Marker led the Ansonia girls as she finished eighth with a time of 22:31. Also for the Lady Tigers, Katie Werts finished 11th in 22:52, Amber Bergman finished 20th in 25:14, Trinity Henderson finished 21st in 25:26, Stefani Garrett finished 23rd in 26:13, Shelby Hartzell finished 25th in 26:50, and Megan Bergman finished 32nd in 28:41.

Bradshaw led Arcanum with her winning time of 20:07. Also for the Lady Trojans, Mara Wetzel finished seventh in 22:25, Claire Meyer finished 17th in 23:45, Maggie Heiser finished 31st in 28:08, Lana Johnson finished 37th in 29:29, and Allie Moore finished 38th in 32:27.

Knepp led Bradford with her second place finish in 20:25. Also for the Lady Railroaders, Chelsea Gill finished fifth in 22:10, and Adria Roberts finished 34th in 28:54.

Megan Wilson led Mississinawa Valley as she finished 30th in 27:37. Also for the Lady Hawks, Casey Carrico finished 33rd in 28:43, and Isabella Barga finished 35th in 28:57.

National Trail won the high school boys meet while Arcanum finished second, Edgewood finished third, Franklin Monroe finished fourth, Tri-County North finished fifth, and Bradford finished sixth.

Isaac Stephens led Arcanum as he finished second in 17:16. Also for the Trojans, Wills Troutwine finished 11th in 18:25, Tanner Delk finished 12th in 18:32, Michael Scott finished 13th in 18:42, Isaiah Hootman finished 23rd in 19:50, Jared Eberhard finished 26th in 19:57, Victor Alderman finished 43rd in 21:31, Ethan Moores finished 46th in 21:38, Joe Heiser finished 49th in 22:01, Mitchel Wogomon finished 52nd in 22:15, Auris Alderman finished 57th in 23:55, and Jimmy Barry finished 61st in 24:50.

Cole Van Hook led the Franklin Monroe boys as he finished sixth in 17:48. Also for the Jets, Zach Gilliland finished 15th in 18:49, John Myers finished 18th in 19:15, Ross Thayer finished 30th in 20;14, Chance Gilliland finished 36th in 20:32, Xavier Gilliland finished 40th in 21:16, Logan Medve finished 42nd in 21:30, Alex Schmitmeyer finished 44th in 21:34, Isaac Schmitmeyer finished 47th in 21:53, Alex Knepshield finished 50th in 22:04, Nate McMillan finished 55th in 22:42, Jonathan Chen finished 56th in 23:47, and Dylan Hackney finished 58th in 24:04.

Johnny Fike led the Bradford boys as he finished fifth with a time of 17:46. Also for the Railroaders, Jackson Moore finished 27th in 19:59, Kurt Hoover finished 28th in 20:00, Shane Bryan finished 37th in 20:37, and Clay Layman finished 48th in 21:57.

Ethan Bowman led the Mississinawa Valley boys as he finished 34th in 20:19. Also for the Blackhawks, Kaine Daniels finished 63rd in 27:26.

Logan Warner led the Ansonia boys as he finished 39th in 20:56. Also for the Tigers, Daniel Shaner finished 53rd in 22:34, and Austin Alexander finished 54th in 22:41.

Edgewood’s Andrew Testas won the high school boys race, which included 63 runners, with a time of 15:56.
