

DARKE COUNTY – The Arcanum and Franklin Monroe volleyball teams both earned top-five seeds in their sectionals in the Ohio High School Athletic Association postseason tournaments.
Arcanum (15-5) earned the fifth seed in the Division III Brookville sectional and will play No. 14 seed National Trail (7-12) at 5 p.m. Saturday at Brookville. A win would allow the Lady Trojans to advance to the second round where they would play No. 3 West Liberty-Salem (16-4) at 6 p.m. Oct. 19 at Brookville.
Versailles (10-10) earned the 10th seed in the Division III Brookville sectional and will play No. 18 Dayton Christian (5-14) in the first round of the tournament at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dixie. A win would allow the Lady Tigers to advance and play either No. 4 Northwestern (14-6) or No. 17 Triad (5-12) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at Brookville.
Franklin Monroe (16-3) earned the fifth seed in the Division IV Tipp City sectional and will play No. 15 Twin Valley South (11-8) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at Tippecanoe in the opening round of the playoffs. A win would allow the Lady Jets to advance and play No. 8 Riverside (13-7) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Tippecanoe.
Mississinawa Valley (6-13) earned the No. 21 seed in the Division IV Tipp City sectional and will play No. 3 Lehman Catholic (14-6) at 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at Tippecanoe in the opening round of the tournament.
Tri-Village (4-15) earned the No. 22 seed in the Division IV Tipp City sectional and received a first-round bye in the tournament. The Lady Patriots will play the winner of the Lehman Catholic-Mississinawa Valley match for a chance to advance to the third round of the tournament, which will be held at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at Tippecanoe.
Ansonia (9-10) earned the No. 16 seed in the Division IV Troy sectional and will play No. 10 Mechanicsburg (10-7) at 5 p.m. Saturday at Troy to begin tournament action. A win would allow the Lady Tigers to advance and play No. 6 Fairlawn (15-6) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Troy.
Bradford (3-17) earned the No. 24 seed in the Division IV Troy sectional and received a first-round bye in the tournament. The Lady Railroaders will play the winner of top-seeded Jackson Center (20-0) and No. 25 Tri-County North (1-18) at 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at Troy. A win would allow the Lady Railroaders to advance to the third round of the tournament at 4 p.m. Oct. 24 in Troy.
Greenville (2-18) earned the No. 11 seed in the Division II Tecumseh sectional and will play No. 7 Urbana (8-12) at 6 p.m. Oct. 19 at Tecumseh in the first round of postseason play. A win would allow the Lady Wave to advance to play the winner of the match between No. 3 Tippecanoe (14-6) and No. 14 Belmont (2-13) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Tecumseh.
