GREENVILLE – The Greenville girls soccer team recorded its first win of the 2015 season with a 2-1 victory against West Carrollton in the Lady Wave’s home finale on Monday.

Greenville’s Kayla Arnold scored at four minutes in to take a 1-0 lead, which remained the score until halftime.

Maddie Baker scored on a cross from Chelsea Stout, which was her second assist, to put the Lady Wave up 2-0 early in the second half.

West Carrollton scored late to get close, but Greenville kept the ball on the Pirates’ side of the field the rest of the game to end it.

Ashton Kester recorded seven saves to preserve the victory.

Greenville’s midfield was really solid at winning the ball and defending, coach Steve Shepard said, and that was the key difference.

Greenville improved to 1-12 with the win. The Lady Wave will play at Sidney on Wednesday.
