GREENVILLE — Premier Health/Good Samaritan Hospital conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, in collaboration with the Darke County Chamber of Commerce, Wednesday evening to officially open its new health center in Greenville.
Good Samaritan Health Center Greenville is a 7,900-square-foot office building across the street from Wayne HealthCare’s main campus. The office will house Greenville Heart Center and Dayton Lung and Sleep Medicine, initially.
In remarks prior to the ribbon cutting, Eloise Broner, president and CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital, told those gathered, “I am so proud to be here today, celebrating this beautiful new facility and the expansion of Premier Health’s mission to build healthier communities.”
She added, “This new center is a vital health care resource for the people of Darke County. Good Samaritan Hospital, Greenville Heart Care, and Dayton Lung and Sleep Medicine all provide services here, offering patients easier access to specialty care. The facility also offers the opportunity to add more specialty medical services in the future.”
James Pancoast, president and CEO of Premier Health also told the group he was proud to be there and said he was “thrilled” with the building of Good Samaritan Health Center Greenville.
“As the largest health system in southwest Ohio, Premier Health has remained steadfast in our commitment to offer high-quality, compassionate care,” he said. “We consider it a privilege to do so.”
Darke County Chamber of Commerce President Sharon Deschambeau called Good Samaritan Health Center Greenville “a valuable healthcare partner for the businesses and people of Darke County, because it allows for specialty care close to home.”
Others offering remarks included Carol Bauer, Good Samaritan’s vice president of Mission Effectiveness; Daniel Sadlier, chair of Premier Health Board of Trustees; Jeffrey Levine, chair of Good Samaritan Board of Trustees; Wayne Deschambeau, president and CEO of Wayne HealthCare; Timothy Markus, MD, cardiologist for Greenville Heart Care; and Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers.
Lisa Hayes, presented a commendation signed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor, while Tristan Weis presented a letter signed by Rep. John Boehner.
Sharon Deschambeau presented a commendation signed by Representative Jim Buchy, the Ohio House of Representatives and Speaker Clifford Rosenberger of the Ohio House, as well as a Ribbon Cutting Commemoration Certificate from the Darke County Chamber of Commerce.
Live music, food and beverages were provided following the ribbon cutting. Also, attendees were able to tour the new facility.
Good Samaritan Health Care Center Greenville is located at 742 Sweitzer Street.
