Tri-Village ends football season with win vs. Arcanum

NEW MADISON – Tri-Village hosted Arcanum for the Patriots’ last junior varsity football game in 2015.

The game quickly turned into the Jonny Wilson show as the junior quarterback ran for five touchdowns and threw for another to help lead the the Patriots to a 47-6 win over Arcanum.

Wilson got the scoring started on a 3-yard run at 2:59 in the first quarter.

Exchange student Diego Garcia kicked the extra point to give the Patriots a 7-0 lead.

Wilson followed up with his second rushing TD of 15 yards around the right end to push the lead to 14-0.

Arcanum was looking to stay close in the game but was picked off by Austin Bruner, who returned the interception 52 yards, and with 2:09 to go in the second quarter the Patriots led 20-0.

Arcanum’s Christian Layman returned the kickoff 53 yards all the way down to the 24-yard line to give the Trojans their best field position in the game.

The Trojans capitalized before the end of the half when Austin Fourman’s pass was tipped and then grabbed by an aware Isaiah Krauss, who then crossed the goal line with tacklers draped over him to score for the Trojans, making the score 20-6 at the half.

Wilson struck quickly on the first play of the second half with a 75-yard pass to Austin Bruner, and the he added three more touchdowns on the ground as the Patriots rolled in this one 47-6 win over Arcanum.

The Patriots finished with a 6-2 record and momentum needed to help build off their historic first year of football.
