Help Me Grow screenings set

GREENVILLE — Child development research has established that the rate of human learning and development is most rapid during the preschool years. Timing of intervention becomes particularly important when a child runs the risk of missing an opportunity to learn during a state of maximum readiness.

If the most teachable moments or stages of greatest readiness are not taken advantage of, a child may have difficulty learning a particular skill at a later time. If you have concerns about your child’s development take advantage of this free screening opportunity.

Free developmental screenings for infants and toddlers will be given to newborns and children birth up to 3 years old who are residents of Darke County. These are developmental screenings for motor skills, communication skills, cognitive skills, self- help skills, and social/emotional skills.

It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Darke County Health Department, 300 Garst Ave., Greenville.

Screenings are by appointment only. Call 547-9392 to schedule an appointment.
