Versailles graduate Brett Bey earns all-conference award

COLUMBUS – Versailles High School graduate Brett Bey, a volleyball player for Columbus State Community College, earned first team all-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference honors.

Bey, a sophomore at Columbus State, was one of two Columbus State athletes to earn first team all-conference honors along with Julia Wynn. Fellow Cougar Kelsey Rammel, a Coldwater graduate, made the league’s honorable mention team.

Bey, a middle blocker and setter for Columbus State, led the Cougars with 952 assists in 32 matches. She was third on the team with 127 blocks, 188 kills and a .209 attacking percentage. She also had 267 digs and 12 aces.

Bey also made the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12 District F All-Tournament team and was named all-region.

Coldwater graduate Macy Reigelsperger, a sophomore middle blocker for Owens Community College, was named the OCCAC volleyball player of the year.

Columbus State finished fourth in the OCCAC standings behind Owens, Cincinnati State and Sinclair with an 8-6 conference record. The Cougars finished the season 22-15 overall.
