GREENVILLE — The annual meeting of Community Unity was held Tuesday afternoon following the regular board session.
Those in attendance heard an update on the organization, its annual statistics, a financial report, announcement of those serving as officers and board members and a time for questions and answers.
Among those in attendance were Dot Cain, Jim Sauer and Marilyn Smith, who were the original members since Community Unity started in 1992.
Mary Folkerth gave a recap of the 2014 annual meeting, and President Jim Morehouse introduced the new treasurer, Don Miller, as well as new volunteers, Dave and Carolyn Long.
“Carolyn Garver is now meeting with clients every other Tuesday and we’re needing a new volunteer for Wednesdays to return phone calls,” Morehouse said. “Thanks to Grace Resurrection Community Center (GRCC) for its space and its cooperative ministry. We’re always glad to go out to churches, organizations, etc. to make a power point presentation.”
He thanked everybody for their support of this vital ministry and to all of the faithful volunteers.
It was also announced that Morehouse is stepping down as president when his term expires at the end of the year. Pam Pohlman, trustee, presented him with a gift on behalf of the board for his service to the organization.
New officers will be Doug Klinsing, president; Terry House, vice president; Mary Folkerth, secretary; Don Miller, treasurer; and Dot Cain and Morehouse, trustees. Klinsing’s, Folkerth’s and Miller’s terms will be through 2017; House’s through November 2016; and the trustees will be serving until 2018. The other trustees are Jim Sauer, Don Kaiser and Pohlman, whose terms end November 2016.
The next annual meeting will be at 3 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2016, tentatively, at GRCC. Regular bi-monthly board meetings are tentatively set for Tuesdays, Jan. 19, March 15, May 17, July 19 and Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.
