GREENVILLE – The Greenville eighth grade girls basketball team opened its season with a 46-29 victory against Springfield.
Morgan Gilbert and Annie Hayes combined for 24 points to lead the Lady Wave. Addie Haupt and Riley added 13 while Kiersten Barnes, Haleigh Mayo, Makaya Miller and Kelli Kretschmar added nine more.
The Wave (1-0, 1-0 Greater Western Ohio Conference) play at Piqua at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The team is coached by Dave Westfall.
