CEDARVILLE – Tri-Village graduate Kayla Linkous scored her 1,000th career point for the Cedarville University women’s basketball team on Tuesday.
Linkous scored all 12 of her points in the first half of an 85-48 win against Ohio Christian Tuesday to reach the milestone. The senior forward became the 23rd player in Cedarville women’s basketball history to score 1,000 career points.
Linkous, who is a team captain, also is just nine rebounds shy of 500 for her college career.
The Tri-Village graduate has played in four games this season and made three starts. She averages 9.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
Last season Linkous was named to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference first team, was named first team all-National Christian College Athletic Association Midwest Region and was named to the NCCAA all-America honorable mention team. The Tri-Village graduate made the G-MAC honorable mention team both her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Cedarville is 3-3 so far this season. The Yellow Jackets return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday with a home game against Wilberforce.
