Versailles bowling teams win WOHSBC matches

NEW BREMEN – The Versailles boys and girls bowling teams both won the West Ohio High School Bowling Conference matches on Saturday at Speedway Lanes in New Bremen.

The Versailles girls beat Marion Local 2,380-1,753. Hannah Niekamp led Versailles with games of 224 and 165, Olivia Bruening had games of 192 and 160, Makenzie Berning had games of 146 and 182, Brigette Holsapple bowled a 144, Maggie Hedrick rolled a 128, Morgan Hietkamp rolled a 125, and Jamee Brown bowled a 92.

The Ansonia girls lost 1,678-1,663 to Fort Recovery. Madison Stover led Ansonia with games of 150 and 128, Jordan Campbell had games of 133 and 92, Katlynn Yeagle had games of 76 and 113, Rose Swanson had games of 81 and 92, Rebecca Thornhill rolled a 100, and Audrey Kelly bowled a 72.

The Mississinawa Valley girls lost 2,405-1,901 to Coldwater. Spencer Warren led MV with games of 167 and 177, Kayla Harris had games of 184 and 159, Payton Reichard had games of 132 and 109, Tiffany Westfall had games of 106 and 131, Trinity Konwiczka rolled a 102, and Tabitha Richards bowled an 80.

The Versailles girls improved to 2-2 with their win while Ansonia’s girls fell to 1-3 and Mississinawa Valley’s girls fell to 0-4.

The Versailles boys beat Marion Local 2,561-2,014. Alex Groff led Versailles with games of 245 and 181, Kyle Cotner had games of 198 and 156, Jacob Wenig had games of 180 and 164, Brandon Bradley rolled a 181, Luke Shellhass rolled a 169, and Michael Hemmelgarn bowled a 131.

The Ansonia boys lost 2,115-1,212 to New Bremen. John Fischer led Ansonia with games of 198 and 156, Allen Christman had games of 112 and 65, Jedd Rismiller had games of 63 and 96, and Jeremy Rismiller had games of 70 and 81.

The Mississinawa Valley boys lost 2,525-2,410 to Fort Loramie. Joe Teeter led MV with games of 198 and 233, Andrew Reichard had games of 159 and 155, Dilyn Rammal had games of 131 and 176, Alex Longfellow had games of 157 and 135, and Brandon White had games of 138 and 135.

The Versailles boys improved to 3-1 with their win while the Mississinawa Valley boys fell to 1-3 and the Ansonia boys fell to 0-4.

Ansonia, Mississinawa Valley and Versailles all will return to action on Saturday with WOHSBC matches at McBo’s Lanes in Versailles.

At 9:45 a.m. the Ansonia girls will face Marion Local and the Mississinawa Valley and Versailles girls will square off. At 1 p.m. the Ansonia boys will face Russia, the Mississinawa Valley boys will face Coldwater, and the Versailles boys will face Fort Loramie.
