Tri-Village powerlifting team begins season

SPRINGFIELD – The Tri-Village girls placed third and the Tri-Village boys placed sixth at Northeastern’s powerlifting meet on Saturday in Springfield.

The meet included competitors from Bluffton, Circle City (Northwestern), Kenton Madison Plains, Kenton Ridge, Northeastern, Ridgemont, Tri-Village, Underground BB (Shawnee) and Upper Sandusky.

The Lady Patriots lifted a total of 2,705 pounds as they placed third out of six teams.

Brienna Dunlap lifted 60 pounds in the bench press and 185 in the deadlift for a total of 245 to win the ninth-10th grade girls 200 pound weight class. Ashley Penny lifted 75 pounds in the bench and 200 in the deadlift for a total of 275 pounds to win the ninth-10th grade girls 250 pound class.

Holly Back lifted 85 pounds in the bench and 200 in the deadlift for a total of 285 pounds to place second in the ninth-10th grade girls 155 pound class. Katherine Banis lifted 75 pounds in the bench and 185 in the deadlift for a total of 260 to finish second in the 11th-12th grade girls 120 pound class.

Madison Taylor lifted 75 pounds in the bench press and 200 in the deadlift for a total of 275 pounds to place third in the ninth-10th grade girls 155 pound class.

Cassidy Ditty lifted 85 pounds in the bench press and 220 in the deadlift for a total of 305 pounds to finish fourth in the ninth-10th grade girls 185 pound class. Natasha Napier lifted 70 pounds in the bench press and 185 in the deadlift for a total of 255 to place fourth in the ninth-10th grade girls 130 pound class. Courtney Banis lifted 70 pounds in the bench and 205 in the deadlift to finish fourth in the 11th-12th grade girls 155 pound class.

Marissa Roark lifted 85 pounds in the bench press and 185 pounds in the deadlift to place fifth in the ninth-10th grade girls 185 pound class.

Lauren Banis lifted 75 pounds in the bench press and 185 pounds in the deadlift in the ninth-10th grade girls 185 pound class.

The Tri-Village boys lifted 5,586 pounds to place sixth out of seven teams at Saturday’s meet.

Seth Earls lifted 325 pounds in the bench press and 565 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 890 pounds to win the 11th-12th grade boys 275 pound weight class. Earls set the meet record in the bench press and on a fourth lift set a meet record of 600 pounds in the dead lift.

Harding Stevenson lifted 165 pounds in the bench press and 375 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 540 pounds to finish second in the ninth-10th grade boys 250 pound class.

Foster Brown lifted 70 pounds in the bench press and 175 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 245 pounds to place third in the ninth-10th grade boys 110 pound class. Tyler Bragg lifted 150 pounds in the bench press and 315 pounds in the dead lift for a total of 465 to place third in the ninth-10th grade boys 275-plus class.

Jackson Plush lifted 175 pounds in the bench press and 325 in the deadlift for a total of 500 pounds to finish third in the ninth-10th grade boys 200 pound class. Aaron Stewart lifted 165 pounds in the bench press and 300 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 465 pounds to place third in the ninth-10th grade boys 140 pound class.

Dagan White lifted 175 pounds in the bench press and 345 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 520 pounds to place fourth in the ninth-10th grade boys 225 pound class. Ian Bailey lifted 180 pounds in the bench press and 300 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 480 pounds to finish fourth in the ninth-10th grade boys 250 pound class.

Trevor Mote lifted 140 pounds in the bench press and 265 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 405 pounds to place fifth in the ninth-10th grade boys 185 pound class. Nick Napier lifted 230 pounds in the bench press and 410 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 640 pounds to finish fifth in the 11th-12th grade boys 250 pound class.

Nick Varvel lifted 65 pounds in the bench press and 150 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 215 pounds in the ninth-10th grade boys 140 pound class. Dillon Holsapple lifted 105 pounds in the bench press and 215 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 320 pounds in the ninth-10th grade boys 185 pound class.

Dalton Barga lifted 90 pounds in the bench press and 220 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 310 pounds in the ninth-10th grade boys 185 pound class. Diego Garcia lifted 125 pounds in the bench press and 240 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 365 pounds in the ninth-10th grade boys 140 pound class.

Charlie Bailey lifted 160 pounds in the bench press and 315 pounds in the deadlift for a total of 475 pounds in the 11th-12th grade boys 185 pound class.

Tri-Village’s next powerlifting meet is at 10 a.m. Jan. 9 at Bellefontaine.
