LEWISBURG – The Franklin Monroe girls basketball team won its second game in a row on Monday, beating Tri-County North 57-39 in a Cross County Conference contest.
FM jumped out to a 13-9 first quarter lead and extended its advantage to 30-20 at halftime. The Lady Jets pushed their lead to 42-29 in the third quarter en route to the 57-39 win.
Hannah Eley led Franklin Monroe with 20 points in Monday’s win. Also for the Lady Jets, Tara Goubeaux scored 14 points, Allyson Masterson scored 13, Allie Armstrong scored four, Carrie Baker scored three, and Kennedy Morris scored three.
Tiarra Alford led Tri-County North with 21 points in the game. Also for the Panthers, Cassi Stinson scored nine points, Sara Harris scored four, Riley Cruse scored three, and Shyanna Baker scored two.
Franklin Monroe improved to 2-8 with Monday’s win. The Lady Jets are off until Jan. 4 when they travel to Dixie.
