Head-on crash injures two

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. – A head-on collision seriously injured two drivers in Randolph County, Indiana, on Christmas Eve.

According to a release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, a call came in to the Randolph County Communications center approximately 2:15 p.m. reporting a traffic accident involving two vehicles at State Road 32 and Windsor Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding personnel removed Chrissy A. Francway, 36, from her 1997 Buick. Francway was in serious but stable condition and was transported to Methodist Hospital Indianapolis by Lifeline.

Matthew C. Oliver, 27, of Muncie, Indiana, was removed from his 2000 Volkswagen Jetta. He was in critical condition and transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

The results of the preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle driven by Francway was westbound on State Road 32 and was left of center. The vehicle driven by Oliver was eastbound, and the two vehicles collided head-on near the intersection of Windsor Road.

Personnel from the Farmland Police Department, the Farmland Fire Department, White River Fire Department, Randolph County Medical Services and deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene, along with State Trooper Scott Keegan for accident reconstruction.
