Versailles girls bowling team defeats Ansonia in WOHSBC match

MINSTER – The Versailles girls bowling team beat Ansonia in West Ohio High School Bowling Conference action at Community Lanes in Minster.

The Versailles girls beat Ansonia 2,394-1,823. Hannah Niekamp led Versailles with games of 201 and 266, Olivia Bruening had games of 180 and 139, Morgan Hietkamp had a 167, Makenzie Berning had a 162, Jamee Brown had a 157, Crystal Hartzell had a 146, Maggie Hedrick had a 146, and Brigette Holsapple had a 118.

The Mississinawa Valley girls lost 2,234-1,917 to Russia. Spencer Warren led the Lady Blackhawks with games of 137 and 158, Kayla Harris had games of 146 and 137, Payton Reichard had games of 140 and 122, Audree Weimer had games of 115 and 129, Tabitha Richards had a 113 and Tiffany Westfall had a 94.

The Versailles girls are now 6-2 on the season, the Mississinawa Valley girls are 1-6, and the Ansonia girls are 1-7.

The Ansonia boys lost 2,703-2,383 to Fort Loramie.

The Versailles boys lost 2,647-2,579 to St. Henry. Alex Groff led the Tigers with games of 159 and 275, Jacob Wenig had games of 161 and 204, Luke Shellhass had games of 153 and 202, and Kyle Cotner had games of 143 and 163.

The Versailles boys are now 4-4 on the season, the Mississinawa Valley boys are 2-5, and the Ansonia boys are 0-8.

On Saturday the WOHSBC teams will compete at Speedway Lanes in New Bremen. At 9:45 a.m. the Ansonia girls will face Fort Loramie, the Mississinawa Valley girls will face Minster, and the Versailles girls will face Coldwater. At 1 p.m. the Ansonia boys will face Marion Local while the Mississinawa Valley and Versailles boys will square off.
