CASSTOWN – The Franklin Monroe girls basketball team lost 56-34 to Miami East in a Cross County Conference game on Monday.

Miami East took a 23-6 first quarter lead and led 35-13 at halftime. The Jets outscored the Vikings 12-11 in the third quarter to make it a 46-25 game en route to the 56-34 final score.

Allyson Masterson led Franklin Monroe with 12 points in the game. Also for the Jets, Kinsey Goins scored 10 points, Carrie Baker scored eight, Tara Goubeaux scored two, and Kennedy Morris scored two.

Morgan Haney, Haley Howard and Bailey Miller led Miami East with 13 points each in the game. Also for the Vikings, Kyndall Hellyer scored six points, Megan Thompson scored five, Amber Kinnison scored two, Megan Kinnison scored two, and Kati Runner scored two.

Franklin Monroe fell to 2-14 overall and 2-8 in the CCC with the loss while Miami East improved to 10-7 overall and 7-2 in the CCC.

Franklin Monroe will play at Mississinawa Valley on Saturday.
