Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team falls to Fairlawn


UNION CITY – The Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team lost 61-42 to Fairlawn on Thursday.

Fairlawn took a 15-4 lead in the first quarter and led 39-15 at halftime. The Jets increased the lead to 51-22 in the third quarter before the Lady Hawks outscored them 20-10 in the fourth for the 61-42 final score.

Mikayla Stump led Mississinawa Valley with 11 points in the loss. Also for the Hawks, Kelsie Hunt scored eight points, Leslie Dirksen scored seven, Sidnie Hunt scored six, Madison Stachler scored five, Kylie Willis scored three, and Bailey Johnson added two.

MV fell to 4-15 with the loss.

Mississinawa Valley will play host to Fort Recovery on Saturday.
