TROY – A strong second quarter helped the Greenville boys basketball team beat Troy 63-58 in a Greater Western Ohio Conference game on Friday night.
After playing to a 12-12 tie in the first quarter, Greenville pulled ahead 33-21 in the second quarter. Troy cut the lead to 40-34 in the third quarter, and Greenville held on for the five-point victory.
Clay Guillozet led Greenville with 26 points in the game. Also for the Green Wave, Isaiah Gable scored 16, Aaron Rich scored nine, Peter Pandey scored six, Braden Russel scored four, and Devin Hendrix scored two.
Greenville improved to 10-6 overall and 4-2 in the GWOC North with the win while Troy fell to 4-12 overall and 1-5 in the GWOC North.
Greenville will play another GWOC North game on Tuesday when it hosts Vandalia-Butler.
