First Congregational Christian Church

GREENVILLE — Those at First Congregational Christian Church, 115 W. Fifth St. in Greenville are asking the public to join them during the season of Lent.

Services are: Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m.; Good Friday, March 25, at 6 p.m.; and Easter Sunday, March 27, at 1o:30 a.m.

Lenten study will be Wednesdays, Feb. 17, Feb. 24 March 2, March 9, March 16 and March 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

GREENVILLE — St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 131 E. Fourth St., Greenville, is hosting for this year’s Wednesday Lenten worship services, held every Wednesday during Lent.

Prayer will be at noon and lunch at 12:30 p.m. Prayer will be led by ministers of Greater Greenville Ministerial Association, and soup and sandwich luncheon will be offered by the Brethren Retirement Community.

The theme will be “the Penitential Psalms: Be merciful, O Lord!”

The schedule for this year is as follows:

Feb. 10 — Ash Wednesday with the Rev. Jeff Harper, Psalm 6.

Feb. 17 — the Rev. Dale Boeger, Psalm 32.

Feb. 24 — the Rev. Ted McCurdy, Psalm 38.

March 2 — Jim Morehouse, Psalm 51.

March 9 —the Rev. Peter Menke, Psalm 102.

March 16 — the Rev. Doug Klinsing, Psalm 130.

March 23 — Holy Week, the Rev. Jim Vandermark, Psalm 143.
