MUNCIE, Ind. – The Upper Mississinewa River Watershed Partnership will be having a quarterly stakeholder meeting on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Kennedy Library – 1700 W. McGalliard Rd Muncie, IN 47304. This public meeting is an opportunity for landowners in the Mississinewa River watershed to learn more about the watershed planning process and share their water quality concerns.

The Upper Mississinewa River Watershed Project is a community based initiative funded through the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Clean Water Act Section 205(j) Program with local financial support from the Ball Brothers Foundation and George and Frances Ball Foundation. It is administered locally by the Delaware County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) in partnership with Grant, Blackford, Jay, Randolph and Darke (OH) County SWCDs.

The plan is being developed to address water resource concerns held by local stakeholders. The Partnership’s ultimate intention is to improve the Mississinewa River’s (and contributing tributaries) capacity for recreational uses and subsequently as a catalyst for economic development in the region.

Additional information about this project can be found on our website at http://umrwp.org. Specific questions about the project should be directed to Project Coordinator Colby Gray at 765-284-2328 or at [email protected].
