Mississinawa Valley baseball team loses to Tri-County North

UNION CITY – The Mississinawa Valley baseball team lost 15-2 to Tri-County North in Cross County Conference action on Tuesday.

Tri-County North jumped out to an early lead with a run in the first inning, seven in the second and one in the third to make it 9-0 before MV got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third. Both teams scored one run in the fifth inning, and North added five more in the seventh.

Mississinawa Valley had five hits and one error in the game. TCN had 11 hits and two errors.

Tyler Jenkinson led the Mississinawa offense as he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and drove in both of MV’s runs. Devan Rinderle was 1-for-3, stole a base and scored both of the Blackhawks’ runs. Ethan Bowman also had a hit.

Ethan Dirksen pitched two innings for Mississinawa Valley, allowing five earned runs and four unearned runs on five hits and six walks. Kyler Guillozet went four innings and allowed six earned runs on four hits, three walks and four strikeouts. Trent Collins pitched one scoreless inning, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out one.
