Greenville boys tennis team loses to Vandalia-Butler

VANDALIA – The Greenville boys tennis team lost a Greater Western Ohio Conference match 3-2 to Vandalia-Butler on Thursday.

Greenville won both of the doubles matches. Alex Lance and Tyler Davis beat Ross Fike and Trevor Pisek 6-3, 6-1 in first doubles while Austin Grote and Josh Smith swept Levi Schidecker and Jones Kanak 6-0, 6-0 in second doubles.

Butler won all three of the singles matches. In first singles Greenville’s Noah Haupt lost 6-1, 6-1 to Morgan Jackson. In the second singles match the Green Wave’s Craig Manges lost 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 to Denish Patel. In third singles the Wave’s Quintin Muhlenkamp lost 5-7, 6-0, 6-1 to Troy Luken.

Greenville fell to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in the GWOC North with the loss. Butler improved to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the GWOC North.
