Conner Pohl’s 16 strikeouts lead Arcanum past Bethel

BRANDT – Conner Pohl struck out 16 as Arcanum beat Bethel 8-1 in a Cross County Conference baseball game on Friday.

Arcanum scored five runs in the first inning, one in the second and two in the fourth while limiting Bethel to a single run in the bottom of the fifth.

Arcanum out-hit Bethel nine to three in the game. Both teams committed one error.

Pohl pitched the complete game for the Trojans, allowing one unearned run on three hits, two walks and 16 strikeouts.

Pohl also led the Arcanum offense as he went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a stolen base, two RBIs and two runs. Cole Burrell was 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Austin Baker went 2-for-3 and scored a run.

Brandon Kinney was 1-for-2 and drove in two runs. Hunter Saunders was 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run. Nathan Kubik was 1-for-4 and scored a run. Jordan Dubbs walked once, stole a base and scored a run.

Arcanum improved to 11-3 overall and 7-0 in the CCC with the win.
