New Madison News: It’s prom time at T-V

Dresses are ready and flowers are being selected! It is time for styles and smiles at Tri-Village high school with the prom this weekend. This annual event is scheduled Saturday from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the high school.

Decorating and transforming the gym into a special setting is underway. You are invited to an open house on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. Come and see what creative thinking can do when an area converts from a gym to the biggest social setting of the year.

Couples arriving between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. will be announced and a viewing area will be available for anyone wanting to see the students’ prom attire. Beth Fisherback, junior sponsor, has suggested bringing a lawn chair.

This year’s prom court has been announced. Queen candidates include Taylor Dubbs, Jenna Fisherback, Brooklyn Godown, Riley Hollinger and Marissa Marburger. King candidates include Brett Boyter, Zach Holsapple, Knox Morris, Wesley Murphy and Brandon Peters. Names of the junior prom court includes the following: Princess candidates — Chloe Clark, Destiny Hemmelgarn, Rachel Miller, Kaylor Pearson and Alyssa Tankersley and prince candidates — Trace Couch, Jorden Midlam, Carson Shahan, Josh Wifford and Jonny Wilson.

Don’t pass up a spaghetti supper on Saturday. The New Madison Unit 245 American Legion Auxiliary is planning a menu of Italian delight. You can enjoy homemade meat sauce with angel hair pasta, salad and breadsticks. Add in coffee and dessert for a complete dinner. Serving is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Dinner is $6 and they will have carry out meals. Contact 996-0095.

The next chicken supper will be May 7. And enjoy breakfast at the Legion every week day morning. The coffee is ready at 7 a.m. and breakfast is served until 10 a.m.

April showers were appreciated. Now farm fields await and lots of equipment will be moving on the rural roads.
