DARKE COUNTY – On Thursday, Second National Bank (SNB) was closed while law enforcement investigated a threat made to bank employees in the morning via phone.

All branch offices were closed Thursday, however, all offices are expected to be open and ready to serve clients as usual Friday morning.

“Local authorities continue to investigate the phone call and support of our decision to open for business on Friday,” read a release from Second National Bank and The Park National Bank. “The security of our clients and associates is a top priority, and out of an abundance of caution, extra security professionals will be present at our banking offices Friday.”

“We appreciate the patience and support our clients expressed today as we handled this disruptive situation. As always, we are humbled by the kindness and compassion of the communities we serve.”

SNB has branches in Greenville, Arcanum, Versailles, Celina and Fort Recovery.

The Greenville branch was just one of Second National Bank’s branches that were closed on Thursday due to police investigation of a threat made.
