BRADFORD – A strong pitching performance from Parker Smith and a game-winning run by Mason Justice gave the Bradford baseball team a 1-0 Cross County Conference win against Miami East on Tuesday.
Bradford scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the ninth. Justice hit a one-out single then stole second and advanced to third on a single by Andy Branson. He then scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch.
Bradford out-hit Miami East five to two on Tuesday. Neither team committed an error.
Justice went 1-for-4, stole a base and scored the game’s only run. Walker Branson was 1-for-2 with a walk, Bryson Canan was 1-for-3, and Andy Branson and Smith both went 1-for-4.
Smith pitched the complete nine innings, allowing no runs on just two hits, one walk, one hit batter and seven strikeouts.
Bradford improved to 9-9 overall 3-7 in the CCC with the win.
