Versailles softball team run rules Minster

VERSAILLES – Versailles run ruled Minster 12-2 in five innings of Midwest Athletic Conference softball on Thursday in Versailles.

Versailles took an early lead with five runs in the first inning and two in the second to lead 7-0. After Minster scored a run in both the third and fourth innings, Versailles responded with two in the bottom of the fourth and three in the fifth.

Versailles had nine hits and no errors in the game while Minster had six hits and three errors.

Aimee Powell went 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk, a run and four RBIs for Versailles. Hailey McEldowney was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks, two RBIs and a run. Sarah Gigandet went 2-for-4 with a RBI and three runs.

Kami McEldowney went 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs. Kristin Langston was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Courtney McEldowney went 1-for-3 and scored a run. Ashlee Voisard was 1-for-2 with a walk. Brynna Blakeley scored a run.

Lauren Heitkamp pitched the complete game for Versailles, allowing two runs on six hits, no walks and two strikeouts.

Versailles improved to 13-6 overall and 5-1 in the MAC with the win while Minster fell to 12-11 overall and 3-3 in the MAC.
