SPRINGFIELD – The Bradford baseball team got to double-digit victories with a 6-3 win at Emmanuel Christian Academy on Friday.
Bradford struck first with three runs in the top half of the third inning. After Emmanuel Christian cut the lead to a single run in the bottom half of the inning, the Railroaders plated two more runs in the fifth to lead 5-2. Emmanuel Christian scored its final run in the bottom of the fifth, and Bradford added one more in the seventh for the 6-3 final score.
Bradford had eight hits and three errors in the game. Emmanuel Christian had seven hits and two errors.
Andy Branson was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and four RBIs to lead the Bradford offense. Bryson Canan went 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Parker Smith was 1-for-1 with two walks and three runs.
Wade Gerlach went 1-for-2. Dillon Reck was 1-for-3. Dylan Cassel and Mason Justice both scored a run.
Branson earned the win as he pitched the complete game, allowing three runs on seven hits, five walks, one hit batter and four strikeouts.
Bradford improved to 10-10 with the win.
