Mississinawa Valley baseball team beats Dixie 19-8

NEW LEBANON – The Mississinawa Valley baseball team beat Dixie 19-8 on Friday.

After Mississinawa took a 1-0 first inning lead, Dixie tied the game in the second inning and went up 2-1 in the third. MV scored 12 runs in the fourth inning to retake the lead 13-1.

Mississinawa Valley held the lead the rest of the game and added two runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings while Dixie scored three in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Mississinawa Valley had 14 hits and just one error in the game. Dixie had seven hits and five errors.

Tyler Jenkinson went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs and four RBIs to lead MV. Andrew Johns went 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs. Ethan Bowman was 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs. Ethan Dirksen was 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs. Devan Rinderle was 1-for-2 with a RBI and scored five runs.

Colyn Nelson went 1-for-3 with a triple, a RBI and two runs. Levi Livingston was 1-for-3 with a RBI and two runs. Kyler Guillozet went 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run. Colton Hines was 1-for-4 and scored a run.

Bowman pitched four innings for Mississinawa Valley and allowed three earned runs and one unearned run on five hits, three walks and five strikeouts. Dirksen pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed two earned runs and one unearned run on one hit and one walk. Trent Collins pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on one hit, one walk and one strikeout.
