GREENVILLE — Just in time for warmer temps, Chillz Frozen Yogurt, 333 South Broadway, has opened its doors for business.
Greenville’s newest eatery resides in the former home of a Mercer Savings Bank branch.
Tonia Penny, co-owner of the business with her husband Jason, says they are enthusiastic about the prospect of serving customers in downtown Greenville.
“We’re definitely excited to start this new adventure,” she said. “We hope everyone comes in and checks us out.”
Though frozen yogurt is likely the primary draw, the restaurant offers items other than the cold confection.
Among food items are flatbread pizzas, barbeque smothered chips, loaded nachos, shredded chicken and barbeque sandwiches, soups and salads. For both the frozen yogurt and ice cream, Chillz customers will be able to customize their selection with a variety of self-serve toppings.
To wash things down, the restaurant offers soda, water, flavored teas and coffee.
The owners, both longtime Darke County residents, bring years of food service management to the business, and are counting on their know-how to give downtown diners a pleasing and tasty experience.
“It’s what we’re hoping for,” said Penny. “It’s why we’ve kept the menu simple and quick. It shouldn’t be too long of a wait as most of the stuff goes together quickly.”
“We’ve seen other similar places traveling around,” she added. “We liked [the concept] and thought it was something Greenville would enjoy.”
