



DAYTON – A pair of Greenville pole vaulters qualified for the Ohio High School Athletic Association state meet by finishing fourth in the Division I regional track and field meet at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium.
Greenville junior AJ Frens qualified for state for a second consecutive year as he cleared 15 feet in the boys pole vault and finished fourth in the regional.
Greenville junior Lexi Addington qualified for state by clearing 11 feet 2 inches in the girls pole vault to place fourth.
Three other Greenville athletes finished their seasons at the regional meet.
Junior Meg Rehmert finished on the podium in the girls pole vault, placing seventh with a vault of 10 feet 10 inches.
Sophomore Ryan Trick finished 11th in the boys pole vault as he cleared 14 feet in the regional meet.
Sophomore Sierra Cress placed 14th in the girls shot put with a throw of 31 feet 5 inches.
Frens and Addington now advance to the OHSAA Division I state track and field meet at The Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.
Frens will compete at noon June 4 and Addington will compete at 3 p.m. on June 4.
