‘War Room,’ Bible study coming

VERSAILLES — Tony and Elizabeth Jordan have it all—great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving. Tony and Elizabeth Jordan’s world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage.

While Tony basks in his professional success and flirts with temptation, Elizabeth resigns herself to increasing bitterness. But their lives take an unexpected turn when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara, and is challenged to establish a “war room” and a battle plan of prayer for her family. As Elizabeth tries to fight for her family, Tony’s hidden struggles come to light. Tony must decide if he will make amends to his family and prove Miss Clara’s wisdom that victories don’t come by accident.

LWM Community Church in Versailles is showing the full length movie The War Room, so if you haven’t seen this film yet this is the perfect opportunity. A free will offering will be collected the night of movie showing. Everyone is welcome.

It is set for June 8 at 7 p.m. at the LWM Community Church in Versailles.

“Bring your own drinks; popcorn will be provided.,” said organizers. “Following the movie there will be five Bible study sessions. The cost for the class and the book is $10.”

Can a person attend the movie and not come to the bible study? Yes, the movie and Bible study are separate events.

There is not a lot of homework. For each session, there is three days of homework; normally they can be completed in 15 minutes.

The movie and Bible study are open to all! Come alone or bring friends and family. This is open to the entire community.

The church at 102 W. Main St., Versailles.

The movie will be shown the first night on June 8 starting at 7 p.m., and the study will begin at 7 p.m. on June 22, July 6, July 20, Aug. 3, and final session, Aug. 17.

When do one need to register?

“If you register on or before June 8, your book is guaranteed to be available at the first session on June 22,” organizers said.

What if a person cannot make every session?

“Come to what you can make,” the spokesperson said. “You will miss the discussion that happens but the material you can review and do on your own. So don’t let that stop you from gaining on the days you can attend.”
