Crews respond to two-car accident

PITSBURG, Ohio — Area emergency personnel arrived at the scene of an accident that occurred southwest of Pitsburg, Ohio, late Wednesday morning.

On June 1 at 11 a.m. Darke County Sheriffs Deputies, along with Arcanum Fire Department, Pitsburg Fire Department, Arcanum Rescue, Tri Village Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue and Careflight, responded to an injury accident in the intersection of Grubbs Rex and Gordon Landis Roads.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a Red 2010 Chevrolet Aveo driven by Mary Harter 86 of New Madison, was traveling east on Grubbs Rex Road and failed to stop at the stop sign. Harter’s vehicle struck a 1990 Oldsmobile as it travelled south on Gordon Landis Road. Driving the Oldsmobile was Kimberly Davis, 47 of Arcanum, and also in the vehicle was Megan Davis, 16 of Arcanum.

Both Harter and Kimberly Davis were transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight. Megan Davis was also transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Tri Village Rescue.

At last check Harter is listed in serious condition and Kimberly Davis is listed in good condition. Megan Davis was treated and released.

This accident remains under investigation.
