Freedom from Smoking’ sessions to launch

RICHMOND, Ind. – Are you ready to be free from tobacco? Reid Health is launching “Freedom From Smoking” group counseling, taught by a Reid health staff member who is an American Lung Association-trained instructor.

Participants will meet weekly with a small group of people and receive personal attention. “Because no two smokers are alike, the program helps you create your own quit plan,” said Gina Harvey, Reid Health Wellness Specialist. “Quit day is not until session 4. Having the support of others is important while quitting smoking. The other people in the program know exactly what you’re going through and provide support when you need it most,” Harvey said.

Registration begins June 1. Please visit [www.ReidHealthier.org%20]Reid Healthier Wellness Club to register or call 765-983-3215. Class size is limited to 16 people.

Cost to attend class is $75 for 8 sessions. Harvey said those who enroll can visit the Patient Financial Services building at 600 East Main Street in Richmond by June 17 to pay for the class. Most insurance plans cover the cost of tobacco cessation group counseling classes.
