RICHLANDS, N.C. – James “Jim” Emerson Weyant, 65, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Weyant was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was also a deacon of Whaley’s Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Weyant and Isabel Manning Weyant; brothers, Charles Weyant, Robert Weyant, Edward Weyant, Harold Weyant and sisters, Barbara Berry, Mary Lou Lambert and Patty Roe.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Wanda Weyant of the home; two daughters, Kelly Orellana of Grove City, Ohio, and Jamie Kempfer of Jacksonville, North Carolina; brother, John Weyant of Celina, Ohio; three sisters, Eileen Woodman of Versailles, Ohio, Kathleen Lutz of Greenville, Ohio, and Phyllis Crowell of Greenville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Desta Daniels and Nicholas Orellana.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 1 p.m., at Jones Funeral Home, Richlands, with the Rev. Ronnie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Rigdon Jarman Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
