GREENVILLE — Citizens of the Treaty City love their food. If all goes as planned, folks will have the opportunity to try out a new type of pizza, as Rapid Fired Pizza, a regional chain, hopes to open a Greenville location by the end of 2016.
The shop will be located at 1487 Wagner Avenue, in the same plaza as Buffalo Wild Wings.
Rapid Fired Pizza Vice President and Director of Real Estate Kelly Gray said, “We expect to open by the end of the year depending on when the landlord turns the space over to us.” She said she expects that to occur in late September.
The chain is “rapidly” expanding (pun intended), with four current locations and seven new locations under construction or planned, including Greenville. Fifteen other locations are being negotiated.
Rapid Fired is expecting to hire 20 to 30 people locally, and will begin accepting applications for the Greenville location once the space is turned over.
Gray explained what sets Rapid Fired Pizza apart from other eateries, saying, “We specialize in made-to-order 11-inch thin and 9-inch pan personal pizzas with the choice of eight sauces, eight cheeses, over 30 toppings, and 14 dipping sauces to build the perfect pizza.”
“We build the pizzas, either custom or one of the 10 craft pizzas on the menu, in front of the customer customized to their specification. It’s then cooked in an amazingly fast 180 seconds. We also offer craft or custom salads in addition to breadsticks and desserts.”
When asked what attracted Rapid Fired Pizza to Greenville, Gray replied, “We felt that Greenville was an underserved market and we like county seat markets.”
